Business Builders was founded in 2001 as the Red Khakis. A few years later, the club was rebranded as the Business Builders Club or BBC, which served as the organization's name until it was rebranded as the Business Builders in 2019. Nathan Hurd '04 (left) founded the organization as an undergraduate student when he realized that Ohio State lacked an entrepreneurship organization. Hurd was a standout student at OSU, as he was recognized as a Fisher Pace Setter and graduated with "Most Distinguished Senior" honors. Nathan has since founded Baby Will, a charitable organization in his son's name that raises money for SIDS research. He now serves as Head of Business Development and Sales at Bold Penguin. His tenure as the first president of the Business Builders laid the framework for an organization that produces industry leaders who go on to change the world.

Over its nearly two decade long existence, Business Builders has impacted hundreds of lives. The organization's alumni are a testament to the impact of the club; known as the BBC Mafia, they are readily available to guide the club, meet with and advise current members, and provide a lifelong network of support.
